Re-Tech Wood Products began January 01, 1993 testing products made with reclaimed laminated fir beams. Previously this had not been done commercially. Re-Tech's experience has proven successful enough to expand product lines.

Re-Tech is a small, family-owned firm (located in the city of Forks, on the economically depressed Olympic Peninsula) whose entire purpose is to recycle wood. Re-Tech has never cut a living tree: we specialize in salvaging beams and lumber from old buildings, blow-down trees, and long abandoned or lost logs (what we call buckskins). Through the years the fiber changes color; this is where the term "buckskin" originates. These buckskins are retrieved through sustainable forest management practices that balance economic and ecological needs, providing alternatives to "destructive" forms of forest practices. Recycling in this manner is socially and ecologically important. This type of forest management provides a continuous yield of quality wood products, preserves old growth timber and native plant and animal habitat, sustaining both forest and the human communities that depend on them for their livelihoods.

Re-Tech seeks to encourage creative thinking and efforts towards greater sustainability, especially in the building and architectural communities. Our chief goals are recycling, environmental soundness, and ecological friendliness. Re-Tech was founded on the idea that one can both make a living and do a socially important service by recycling beams and lumber into fine wood products for the construction industry.

Re-Tech is a specialty mill. We work with architects, contractors and do-it-yourselfers. The pictures you will view here on our web page will show you the type of product we can cut. Re-Tech goes to great lengths to ensure the customer can expect high end products. Our work, what we do, and how we do it, is a personal statement for each job we do. Whether it is cutting 12" x 57" x 20' Doug Fir beams, free of heart center, timber frame size beams of varying size, Or cvg, cmg, tight knot, recycle fir flooring. Along with recycled glue lam fir flooring, shelving, trim packages and other related home building products, Re-Tech will always strive to work with its customers to get the "special" look they want for their home.

Western Red Cedar products are available and can be located if not in stock. Hands on samples can be sent upon request to our customers. Re-Tech (recycled technologies) is a "from start to finish" recycle company dedicated to the re-use of wooden structures.
